You and I are both designed and formed by God in Love.

Childhood

Born in Highland Park, Texas, I grew up in the South Texas community that had supported my family since the 1820’s. I had a wonderful childhood by today’s standards - riding bikes with my friends, hunting for arrowheads and fossils in the dirt, going hunting and fishing with my dad and his buddies, turning the ice cream churn and loving the close knit church community that supported each other in good times and hard. This is the ground that grew me - and the ethos I try to bring to all my relationships.

Young Adulthood

After studying Studio Art in college I trained as a lawyer. I spent a decade running political campaigns for partisan candidates as well as for social issue organizations. While I loved this work, I had known I was called to the life of a clergy person since I was in the Eighth Grade. Going to seminary and becoming ordained was part of the life journey God made for me from before the beginning of time.

Shelly and Family

My wife Shelly and I have five children, various in-laws and two grandchildren. We are avid equestrians, love trail running (you can follow me on Strava if you want), and simply hanging out with our friends. Our family is multi-national, multi-lingual, and multi-ethnic which results in a wonderful “stew” for the holidays.

Where I am Now

I’m currently the Priest-in-Charge at Trinity Church in Manassas, VA. At Trinity my job is to help the congregation welcome their new future in a rapidly growing and changing community. While here I’ve helped Trinity deepen her stewardship, increase her invitationalism and enrich her worship.
